The Town of Tarboro Council recently held a meeting to discuss bids from three local dealers on purchase of (13) 2009 Chevrolet Impala Police Sedans. The council unanimously decided to purchase the vehicles at Doug Henry Chevrolet in Tarboro, NC.
Town Council also evaluated bids from Bobby Murray Chevrolet in Raleigh and Don Bulluck Chevrolet in Rocky Mount, NC. Sam Noble, Tarboro Town Manager, recommended to board that purchasing vehicles from Doug Henry Tarboro would help stimulate the local economy.
John Worthington, Doug Henry Tarboro Sales Manager, said, "It's exciting to serve a community that values relationships and supporting local businesses. Our dealership is committed to providing the best level of service to local customers!"
The 2009 Impalas will be built and arrive to the Town of Tarboro sometime in January 2009. At that time, the vehicles will be upfitted with state-of-the-art equipment to help serve and protect Tarboro citizens. The Impalas should also provide great value to local taxpayers as they will protect the Town of Tarboro with a 100,000 mile Powertrain warranty and get best-in-class fuel economy of any police interceptor. The Chevrolet Impala offers a lower cost of ownership than Dodge Charger and Ford Crown Victoria, and is a popular choice among law enforcement agencies nationwide.
