Office

Julie Walker

Julie Walker

Receptionist

Julie joined Doug Henry Chevrolet Tarboro in July 2023 and is usually the first person you meet at 809 W. Wilson St. Whether you're calling about a vehicle or arriving for service, her job is to connect you with the right person on the first try instead of passing you down a chain. Outside the dealership, Julie is engaged to her fiancé Rick and is a mother of four — Mary, Mike, Christina, and Nick — and a grandmother of six. Her household is completed by two pups, Marley and Lilly. She spends her free time outdoors, whether that's hog hunting in Georgia, exploring the North Carolina mountains, or visiting Charleston, South Carolina. Her pick for a family road trip is the Chevrolet Tahoe.

Tracy Hamad

Tracy Hamad

Assistant Office Manager

Tracy joined Doug Henry in 2016 and works on the administrative and financial side of both the Chevrolet and Ford stores. Title work, funding, and documentation all run through her desk — the part of a purchase most people never see, and the part that determines whether delivery day goes smoothly or turns into a week of phone calls. Tracy is a dedicated member of the Tarboro community. Her oldest son lives in Alabama and her other three children live here in Tarboro. Away from the office she's an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys horseback riding, fishing, and a good book, and she and her boyfriend are usually either at a movie or planning their next trip. Her favorite getaways are Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Rainbow River in Dunnellon, Florida. On vehicles she's torn between the Ford F-150 Crew Cab and the Chevrolet Tahoe.

Chelsey Smith

Chelsey Smith

Administrative Assistant

Chelsey has been with Doug Henry Chevrolet Tarboro since 2017, providing the administrative support that keeps the store running. She grew up in Tarboro, so a good portion of the people who walk through the door are neighbors she already knows. Chelsey is a proud mother to her son, Aiden, and places a high value on family time. A true Eastern North Carolina local, she heads outdoors to go fishing whenever she gets the chance, and when it's time for a getaway she prefers the coast — Nags Head is her favorite. She handles modern vehicles every day, but her heart belongs to the classics: her favorite of all time is the 1968 Chevrolet Camaro.

Taylor Rawls

Taylor Rawls

Administrative Assistant

Taylor joined Doug Henry Chevrolet Tarboro in January 2025, supporting operations, parts, and service. Scheduling, documentation, and the coordination between departments all run through her — the work that keeps a service visit or a parts order from stalling between one desk and the next. Taylor is supported by a close-knit family, including her dad, her twin sister, and her boyfriend. A fan of storytelling and mystery, she spends her spare time on true crime, reading, and writing — the same appetite for detail she brings to her work. When she's dreaming of a getaway, her top pick is the historic charm of Savannah, Georgia. Her automotive taste is a blend of power and nostalgia: a toss-up between the Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Cobalt.

Sales Department

Kris Jolly

Kris Jolly

Team Leader

Kris has been with Doug Henry Chevrolet Tarboro since 2009. As a Team Leader, he's responsible for how One Simple Price actually works day to day: the posted price is the price, no one on his team earns more by selling you more, and one Product Specialist stays with you from first question through final paperwork. He trains and coaches the sales team, handles vehicle service contract information, and works with the office on the general running of operations. Family is the center of Kris's life. He and his wife Laura have two children, Palmer and Piper, and much of his time outside the dealership is spent at the ballpark watching Palmer play baseball and Piper play volleyball — the same coaching instinct he brings to work. When he gets away, it's usually to Charleston, South Carolina. His pick for the ideal vehicle is a Chevrolet Silverado LTZ in Ocean Blue.

Jay Coggins

Jay Coggins

Team Leader

Jay started with Doug Henry at the Ford store in 2011 and moved to the Chevrolet store at 809 W. Wilson St. in 2018. He works across both Tarboro locations on the parts of the business most guests never see directly: how vehicles are merchandised online, the marketing for both stores, the handling of online inquiries, and the training that keeps the experience consistent from one Product Specialist to the next. Jay is a devoted family man, supported by his wife, Alicia. Together they're raising two daughters and a son, with the family dog rounding out the household. He's a technology enthusiast who builds custom PCs — the same interest in how the pieces fit together that shows up in his work. Outside of that, Jay enjoys traveling and time at the firing range, and his ideal getaway is anywhere with good food, sunshine, and great views. His loyalty reflects both brands he supports: a toss-up between the Chevrolet Silverado RST and the Ford Bronco.

John Worthington

John Worthington

Team Leader

John started with Doug Henry in 1997, beginning his career in Farmville before moving to the Tarboro operation in 2000. He's worked nearly every job in a dealership on the way to Team Leader, which is why he tends to be the person others go to when a question doesn't have an obvious owner. John's life is centered on his wife, Heather, and their three children — daughters Charlie Jo and Adeline Mae and son Rhett Thomas — plus their Pomeranian, Addie Lee. A lifelong learner with a curious mind, he loves traveling, taking up new subjects, and live music. His favorite destination is Florence, Italy. His picks are the Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 and the Ford F-250 Tremor.

Billy Whitley

Billy Whitley

Product Specialist

Billy joined Doug Henry Chevrolet Tarboro in 2011 and has helped two generations of local families through a purchase. As a non-commissioned Product Specialist, his pay doesn't change based on what you buy or what you pay for it — which frees him to tell you honestly whether a heavy-duty work truck or a family SUV is the right call. Billy is married to his wife Myra, is the proud father of his daughter Caitlin Webb, and a doting grandfather. He's an enthusiast of North Carolina's outdoor lifestyle, often horseback riding or heading west to the mountains. He bleeds Carolina Blue for UNC and never misses a Dallas Cowboys game. His favorite vehicle is the Chevrolet Silverado.

Blake Lassiter

Blake Lassiter

Product Specialist

Blake joined Doug Henry in 2020 and brings more than twenty years in the automotive industry with him. He's watched the business change considerably over that time, and he works here because he'd rather explain a vehicle's technology and financing plainly than sell around them. He works with guests at both Tarboro locations. Blake credits much of his success to his wife, Sandy, and together they're the proud parents of two children, Nate and Terra. A man of depth and curiosity, his hobbies include reading and contemplating the mysteries of the universe — an analytical streak he puts to work solving problems for guests. His ideal getaway is camping in the North Carolina mountains. He handles the newest models daily, but his all-time favorite is the DMC DeLorean.

Tanner Wilson

Tanner Wilson

Product Specialist

Tanner joined Doug Henry in March 2025. The son of a farmer and a nurse, he came up around work where the answer either holds or it doesn't, and he approaches the job the same way: give people the facts and let them decide. As a non-commissioned Product Specialist, there's no version of the conversation where pushing harder pays him more. Originally from Arkansas, Tanner is the only one of his many siblings to venture out to North Carolina, and he's made a home here with his partner and their dog, Arya. He's usually either hiking with Arya or teaching himself computer programming — an interest that translates directly to helping guests navigate the technology in a modern vehicle. He has a soft spot for the 2013 Ford Fusion, and when he heads home to visit, it's to Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Samantha Brookins

Samantha Brookins

Sales Support Specialist

Samantha joined Doug Henry Chevrolet Tarboro in July 2025 and holds together the parts of a purchase that happen around the sale itself — coordinating deliveries, managing follow-up with the sales team, and getting paperwork completed so delivery day is short. She also works on marketing, merchandising, and the store's social media, which means she's often the first version of Doug Henry a guest encounters. Samantha is happily married to her husband, Cole, and together they manage a busy household of fur babies: their German Shepherd/Black Lab puppy, Maggie, and two cats, Thor and Loki. When she isn't working she's often tackling a home renovation project, playing with her pets, or gaming with her husband. Her ideal getaways are Ocean City, Maryland, or camping on the Finger Lakes in upstate New York. She has a personal appreciation for the 2025 Toyota RAV4.

Kendrick Sexton

Kendrick Sexton

Product Specialist

Kendrick joined the Doug Henry Ford team in August 2021 at 1901 N. Main St. He works on the long game rather than the single transaction — the guests he sold to in 2021 are the ones calling him now — and the non-commissioned model is what makes that possible. Family is the heartbeat of Kendrick's life. He's happily married and the proud father of six children: Destiny, Lacy, Jayden, Amiyah, Heaven, and Kendrick. When he isn't at the dealership he's spending time with family, cooking, or hosting a game of spades, and he's a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. He has an appreciation for high-end engineering, naming the 2020 GMC Sierra Denali 2500 HD and the Maserati Ghibli S Q4 as his favorites. His dream getaway is the Fari Islands in the Maldives.

Whitney Green

Whitney Green

Product Specialist

Whitney joined the Doug Henry Ford team in February 2025 at 1901 N. Main St. She's a straightforward guide through the Ford lineup, from a fuel-efficient commuter to the truck range, and she'd rather find out what actually fits your week than talk you into the model with the better story. A resident of the community with a passion for the quiet joys of home, Whitney is the proud mom to two beloved fur babies. When she isn't at the dealership you can find her lost in a good book or tending her garden. She loves the North Carolina coast, with Morehead City and Atlantic Beach as her favorite destinations. Her heart belongs to an American icon: the Ford Mustang GT.

Michael Wilkerson

Michael Wilkerson

Product Specialist

Michael joined the Doug Henry Ford team in July 2025 at 1901 N. Main St. He treats guests the way he'd want his own family treated, which mostly means answering the question that was asked and not the one that would be more convenient to answer. A man of deep faith and family values, Michael puts his community and loved ones first, and is especially dedicated to his mother, including getting her to her appointments. When he's recharging he's bowling, boxing, or cooking. He's a loyal Washington Commanders fan and finds his rhythm in the early-'80s sound of Rare Essence. He has an appreciation for the luxury of Lexus, but his favorite truck is the Ford F-150. For a vacation, he heads for Las Vegas.

Tyler Ward

Tyler Ward

Product Specialist

Tyler joined the Doug Henry Ford team in October 2025 at 1901 N. Main St. Born and raised in Tarboro, he's currently pursuing a degree in psychology at East Carolina University — a background in how people actually communicate, which turns out to be most of this job. Tyler is a true North Carolinian who values family and community. Outside of work and his studies at ECU, he's a regular at local concerts, rodeos, and soccer games, whether he's playing on the field or cheering from the stands. When he's looking for adventure, his favorite destination is the vibrant culture of Oaxaca, Mexico. As a truck enthusiast with a taste for premium comfort, his favorite is the Ford F-150 Lariat.

Grace Harper

Grace Harper

Grace is Doug Henry Chevrolet’s digital guest experience assistant, available to help guests explore inventory, answer common questions, provide dealership information and connect them with the appropriate member of our team. Her role is to make it easier for guests to get helpful information quickly and continue their experience with a knowledgeable Product Specialist when personal assistance is needed. When you’re browsing our website, look for Grace in the corner of your screen. She is here to ensure that your path to a new vehicle is the most exciting and straightforward adventure possible.

Service Department

Debra Harrell

Debra Harrell

Lead Service Writer

Debra joined the Doug Henry Chevrolet Tarboro service department in 2005 and now leads the service writing side of it. She's the person who translates between you and our factory-trained Chevrolet Certified Service technicians — what your vehicle needs, what it doesn't, and what it will cost, before the work starts rather than after. She also sets the standard the rest of the writers work to. Debra is a proud mother of two boys, Cameron and Matthew, and places a high value on time spent with family and close friends. When she isn't at the dealership she enjoys the Eastern North Carolina lifestyle, particularly trips to Lake Gaston. A fan of high-performance engineering, her favorite vehicle is the Ford Mustang.

McKenzi Roberson

McKenzi Roberson

Service Writer

McKenzi joined the Doug Henry Chevrolet Tarboro service team in June 2022. As a Service Writer she's your point of contact from drop-off to pickup — writing up the work, explaining what the technicians found, and keeping you posted while your vehicle is in the shop so you're not calling to find out. Family is at the center of McKenzi's life. She's the third of five siblings and a proud pet parent to her Goldendoodle, Posie. A woman of many talents, she's also a skilled hair stylist and spends her free time decorating her home or finding inspiration at Hobby Lobby. She embraces the Eastern North Carolina lifestyle, whether she's riding four-wheelers or heading to a local fishing spot. She currently drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee and has her sights set on a Chevrolet Tahoe. When it's time to get away, she prefers the mountains.

Taylor Cooper

Taylor Cooper

Service Coordinator

Taylor has been with Doug Henry since 2019. As a Service Coordinator she manages the logistics of a busy shop — scheduling, parts timing, and the sequencing that determines whether your vehicle is ready when you were told it would be. Taylor is engaged to her fiancé, Dillon, and together they're raising their daughter, Ellie, who is the light of their lives. When she isn't working, Taylor recharges by the water, spending as much time as possible at the lake with her family. Her favorite destination is Luray, Virginia, known for its caverns and mountain views. A long-time member of the Chevrolet family, her favorite vehicle is the Chevrolet Tahoe.

JC Carlisle

JC Carlisle

Courtesy Ambassador

JC has been part of the Doug Henry family since 1999, and he has served guests at 809 W. Wilson St. for more than sixty years — through several owners, several names on the building, and generations of the same families. He is also proud to have retired from the United States Military after thirty years of honorable service. As Courtesy Ambassador, he's the reason a first-time visitor and a fifty-year guest get greeted the same way. JC's life is built on family and service. He's devoted to his wife, Ann, and is a proud father to James Carlisle Jr. and father-in-law to Rhonda, and he especially cherishes time with his two grandsons. When he isn't at the dealership he's an avid outdoorsman who loves to hunt and fish, and you'll often find him at the lake. His favorite vehicle is any Chevrolet — a brand he's represented for over half a century.

Parts Department

Stephen Potter

Stephen Potter

Parts Manager

Stephen has served guests at 809 W. Wilson St. since 2003. As Parts Manager he knows the Chevrolet catalog well enough to get the right part on the first order, whether it's going onto a lift in our shop or into a project in someone's driveway — accessories for a Silverado, maintenance components for an Equinox, or the part number nobody else could pin down. Stephen is a proud family man and the father of three daughters: Lydia, Annalise, and Emmeline. When he isn't managing the parts inventory he enjoys the natural beauty of North Carolina, whether kayaking local waterways or relaxing at the beach, and he loves traveling and music. He handles the newest automotive technology every day but keeps a practical outlook on ownership: his favorite vehicle is "any vehicle that is paid for."

Alyson Peavler

Alyson Peavler

Parts Associate

Alyson joined Doug Henry Chevrolet in April 2026 as a Parts Associate, helping guests and technicians track down the right components. Alyson has two grown children, a son and a daughter, both doing well in Georgia. In her free time she enjoys record collecting, gardening, and being outdoors. Her favorite vehicle is the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, and her ideal vacation spot is the beach — or anywhere near water.

Finance

Position Intentionally Vacant

Position Intentionally Vacant

Traditional Finance Manager

Yes, This Position Is Intentionally Vacant. At many dealerships, agreeing to purchase a vehicle is followed by another sales presentation—this time involving financing, interest rates and optional protection products. We removed that part of the process. At Doug Henry Tarboro, your Non-Commissioned Product Specialist remains your Single Point of Contact throughout the entire purchase. We can still help arrange financing through our lending partners, explain available rates and terms, and offer optional protection products that may genuinely benefit you. The difference is that we do not hand you over to a traditional Finance Manager whose job is to increase the amount you spend. Accept what fits your needs. Decline what does not. Ask questions or bring financing from your own bank or credit union. No awkward handoff. No negotiation. No round of pressure. Our Traditional Finance Manager currently has the easiest schedule in the dealership: Permanently off.
